What do ICS lawful interception products cover?
In Germany, providers of publicly available telecommunications services must implement interception orders under § 170 TKG, the TKÜV and the TR TKÜV. Similar obligations apply across the EU and beyond. ICS lawful interception products address this obligation as a scalable, modular portfolio.
The products share browser-based user interfaces and standardized interfaces. These include X1/X2/X3 towards the network, HI1/HI2/HI3 towards agencies and the 3GPP LI reference points. Automated provisioning, de-provisioning and consistency checks keep target lists accurate across all network elements.

What are lawful interception products?
Lawful interception products are the systems an operator or agency uses to execute legal interception orders. On the operator side, they manage warrants, provision targets in the network and deliver intercepted content and metadata. On the agency side, a monitoring facility receives, decodes and analyzes that data. ICS offers products for both sides, plus appliances for temporary and migration scenarios.
Can ICS products be combined with equipment from other vendors?
Yes. ICS software uses standardized interfaces such as ETSI X1/X2/X3 towards network elements and HI1/HI2/HI3 towards agencies. This allows the LIMS and the LI Mediation Platform to work with multi-vendor switches, gateways and application servers. The ICS LEMF accepts handovers based on ETSI and 3GPP specifications, regardless of which mediation vendor the operator uses.
Which services do ICS lawful interception products support?
The portfolio supports messaging, IP, VoIP, OTT and international interception. Service modules for messaging, IP, VoIP and OTT reuse the same provisioning, logging and handover components. This keeps operations consistent when an operator adds new services. The platforms follow ETSI and 3GPP specifications, including the 3GPP LI specifications for 5G.
When is a temporary LI box the right choice?
A temporary LI box suits short-term investigations and pilot networks. It supports VoIP, IP and messaging interception without a permanent installation. Operators use it when a full LI stack is not yet in place or not economical. For permanent obligations, a LIMS and mediation platform usually offer better long-term control and scalability.

Yes. ICS holds multiple BNetzA acceptances for interception solutions and supports operators through planning, integration and acceptance testing. The Test LEMF edition of ICS LEMF lets operators check their HI2/HI3 delivery before and during the acceptance procedure.
